Glazes, your foundation...

Glazes

You need to make at least 3 glazes. I used a muddy chocolate brown, a pale pinkish brown and an ochre. If you want to purchase your paints, and duplicate this wall, go for the above colors and make your own glaze. The alternative is to use universal stainers with your "mortar" base coat color and make your glaze.
The formula for a home made glaze is:

Brush the colors randomly on the brick areas of your wall. While still wet, lay crumpled newspaper over the glaze and pull off. This will add a layer of "mud" to the color. Let glazes dry over night.
